The AICE Hub helps Red Wing Public Schools make decisions about how AI, computing, and data are introduced into teaching and learning.

That includes reviewing tools before they are used with students, supporting staff learning, helping shape classroom pilots, and gathering feedback as the work grows.

The goal is not to move fast just to move fast. The goal is to build something useful, responsible, and connected to the needs of Red Wing students and teachers.

Flight Path 2030 is a five-year plan, but the work happens through people.

Teachers, counselors, administrators, technology staff, communications staff, and district leaders each see a different part of the student experience. The AICE Hub brings those perspectives together so decisions are not made in isolation.

That matters because responsible AI use is not only a technology question. It is also a teaching question, a privacy question, a student support question, and a family trust question.

The AICE Hub helps the district ask the right questions before new tools or practices move into classrooms.

One important role of the AICE Hub is helping decide which AI tools can be used with students. Only approved tools may be used with students. This helps the district protect student privacy, support digital citizenship, and keep the focus on learning. AI should help students think, question, create, and solve problems. It should not replace student thinking or teacher guidance. 

The capabilities and policies behind many technologies changes quickly. The AICE Hub is dedicated to continual review of all tools used by Red Wing students to make sure they meet expectations for safe, responsible use. A tool may be approved one year, only to be phased out the next year if it no longer meets requirements.

As Flight Path 2030 grows, the AICE Hub will continue helping Red Wing Public Schools learn, adjust, and build this work in ways that make sense for students, staff, and families.
